Beverly Kay Dexter Schappaugh

Beverly Kay Dexter Schappaugh was born on August 25, 1941 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Dorcus Dexter. She lived and worked in Valdosta, Georgia where she built a career as a dedicated elementary school educator. She earned a Master’s degree and was among the early teachers who participated in the federal Head Start program in the late 1960s.
On June 18, 1990, Beverly Kay Schappaugh was found in the parking lot of Pine Grove Elementary School in Valdosta, Georgia. She was 48 years old. Her death was officially ruled a homicide. Her case remains unsolved.
